Welcome to the Emerging Information Technology Risks Conference

Businesses are fast to embrace emerging information technologies but are they equally fast in responding to the potential risks posed by such technologies? This conference organised by ISACA Malta Chapter will show executives how to respond to such risks with confidence

Organisations the world over and of all sizes have intensely embraced information technology to deal with an array of needs such as to improve communications, to improve operational efficiency, to cut costs, to reach new markets, to improve revenue, to comply with regulations, and to support the day-to-day business requirements of their employees, their customers and in many cases their partners and vendors.

Organisations are experiencing tremendous pressures from the fuelled use of social media such as Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube and others, as well as from the explosion in the use of mobile devices for business such as the iPhone, Blackberry, and iPad. They are opening up their systems for access from outside the organization by employees, customers and partners, and they are putting excessive trust in their workforce who have ever increasing access to corporate confidential and sensitive information. We are seeing an increasing use of data centers as well as organizations that have embarked on a journey that will see their systems and data move to the Cloud.

All this can be good but the associated risks need to be understood, articulated and managed. Our overseas speakers will discuss what works & what doesn't, and how IT Governance increasingly means IT Strategy, IT Risk & IT Assurance all folded into one. They will re-assure CEOs, CFOs & CIOs in a 24x7 world that the best practices presented promote quality service & quality IT that need not be vulnerable to the threats that often make news headlines.

The conference is about business IT, and will interest the outward looking business visionary who knows that sustainable business & trustworthy IT cannot be separate. The conference will discuss:

Governance and Risk Management
Social Media
Mobile Computing
Bring Your Own Device
Cloud Computing
